316L stainless steel offer better corrosion and higher strength at elevated temperatures than 304 stainless steel. 316L stainless steel is used in marine applications, along with being used for pumps, valves, textile and chemical equipment, and general uses where 300 series stainless steel is used.
The "L" means that the carbon content of the alloy is below 0.03% which makes the 316L stainless steel sheet preferable for welding over standard 316 stainless steel.

3003 aluminum is an alloy with 1.2% manganese to improve the strength over pure aluminum. 3003-H14 plate is a good general purpose aluminum with excellent corrosion resistance, workability and weld-ability.
3003-H14 aluminum plate has a mill finish. The 3003-H14 aluminum plate does not have a polished or brushed finish and does not come with a protective PVC to prevent scratching as it is typically not used for aesthetic or cosmetic uses.

5052 aluminum is an alloy with 2.5% manganese to improve the strength over pure aluminum. 5052-H32 plate is a good general purpose aluminum with excellent corrosion resistance, workability and weld-ability. 5052-H32 aluminum uses include aircraft fuel tanks, storm shutters, refrigerator liners, utensils, electronic mounting plates and panels, fan blades, etc.
5052-H32 aluminum plate has a mill finish. The 5052-H32 aluminum plate does not have a polished or brushed finish and does not come with a protective PVC to prevent scratching as it is typically not used for aesthetic or cosmetic uses.

6061 aluminum is a heat treatable (strong) alloy with 1.0% magnesium and 0.6% silicon. 6061 aluminum possesses excellent corrosion resistance, formability and weld-ability. 6061-T651 aluminum plate uses include engineering and structural application, boats/ships, furniture, transportation equipment, etc.
